At Swisskie Kennels, our journey began with a deep admiration for one extraordinary breed — the Bernese Mountain Dog.
Founded by Maree and Shane, Swisskie was built from a genuine passion for raising loyal, well-balanced dogs with exceptional temperaments and strong family foundations. What began as a love for the Bernese Mountain Dog soon evolved into a passion for two incredible gentle guardians — the Bernese Mountain Dog and the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog.
Drawn to their calm and affectionate nature, intelligence, loyalty, and unmistakable presence, Maree and Shane became committed to preserving everything that makes these breeds so special. And so, Swisskie was born — created to share the joy, companionship, and deep connection they discovered in these remarkable dogs with other like-minded families.
Based in Queensland, our dogs are raised as part of our family and are involved in everyday life from the very beginning. We believe the environment puppies are raised in plays a vital role in shaping their confidence, temperament, and ability to thrive in their future homes.
At the heart of Swisskie is Tuki, the beautiful foundation of our breeding program and the proud mother of our first litter. Tuki embodies everything we love about the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog — gentle, affectionate, intelligent, and deeply connected to her people. Watching her raise and nurture her puppies has only strengthened our passion for this incredible breed and the future of Swisskie Kennels.
Our foundation dogs have been carefully selected not only for their appearance and pedigree, but more importantly for their health, temperament, and sound nature. We are committed to producing puppies that are not only beautiful examples of the breed but loving lifelong companions capable of fitting seamlessly into family life.
